Salazar’s movements were monitored by the Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group after the US Drug Enforcement Agency gave tip that the Venezuelan was carrying cocaine concealed in her luggage.
Just last Saturday, authorities arrested a Brazilian woman for allegedly attempting to smuggle into the Philippines 6.2 kilograms of cocaine.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) General Manager Ed Monreal said airport authorities are coordinating with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and National Bureau of Investigation to identify the syndicate behind recent attempts to smuggle illegal drugs into the country.
Monreal is also appealing to all passengers not to fall prey to offers of free trips abroad in exchange for carrying a luggage which could contain illegal drugs.
